ICS Technologies has expanded its activities in South Africa through the installation of an Oceangard solid-state radar system in Saldanha Bay, working alongside local partner Oynetec (Pty) Ltd.
Located within a strategically important maritime area, Saldanha Bay plays a significant role in commercial shipping serving South Africa’s mining and logistics sectors. The new radar system contributes to Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) by providing reliable surveillance capabilities to support effective maritime traffic management.
Following the installation, ICS conducted a dedicated on-site technical training programme in Cape Town. The sessions covered system installation, configuration and basic maintenance, providing the local team with the technical knowledge required for day-to-day operation and support.
Combining radar deployment with practical knowledge transfer contributes to long-term system performance, operational continuity and effective lifecycle management.
The project marks another step in the cooperation between ICS Technologies and Oynetec and further expands the presence of ICS maritime surveillance solutions across international markets.
